The AI4CUAV Project – “Innovative AI Framework to Enable the Detection, Classification, and Tracking of Killer Drones”, supported by the NATO Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme, held a pivotal two-day project meeting in Sarajevo.

Hosted by project partner International University of Sarajevo (IUS), the event brought together researchers and experts from Italy, Ukraine, Moldova, and North Macedonia. The meeting marked a significant step forward in the project’s mission to develop cutting-edge AI-based technologies for countering unmanned aerial threats.

Throughout the sessions, partners shared updates on project progress, exchanged technical insights, and coordinated plans for the next development phases. Discussions focused on advancing the AI framework for real-time detection and tracking of hostile drones, a growing challenge in both civilian and military domains.

A notable highlight of the meeting was the hands-on workshop titled “AI Pipeline – From Data to Model Application on Drone Detection”, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Almisreb. The interactive session introduced participants to practical AI tools and methodologies used for processing drone-related data and building detection models, reinforcing the project’s emphasis on applied innovation.

The successful gathering underscored the strength of international collaboration in addressing complex security challenges and laid the groundwork for upcoming research activities under the AI4CUAV initiative.
